“Portrait of a Flamingo”

The American Flamingo, or Caribbean Flamingo, are the brightest coloured pink of all of the 5 flamingo species. It breeds in the Galápagos, coastal Colombia, Venezuela and nearby islands. Like all flamingos, it lays a single chalky white egg on a mud mound, between May and August; incubation until hatching takes from 28 to 32 days.

“Portrait of a sleeping lion”

The white lion (Panthera leo krugeri) is occasionally found in wildlife reserves in South Africa and is a rare colour mutation of the Kruger subspecies of lion.

Testing out my newly acquired Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 IS II USM. This shot was coupled with a 2x Extender III giving me a focal length of 400mm.

“Paris at blue hour”

From atop the Tour Montparnasse. I recall literally running through the streets of Paris with my gear trying to catch the sunset light from the building’s top floor.

I remembered a quote that made me chuckle: “Amateurs worry about equipment, Professionals worry about time, and Masters worry about light”.

Inside, they had these huge massive windows that reflected the fluorescent bulbs. So I improvised and used my jacked as a curtain, by hanging it over the camera and window. The entire setup looked really dodgy and I was getting eyeballed by people. But I got lucky because there was no security around to kick me out.
